Embracing Your Unique Entrepreneurial Journey
Overcoming the Shiny Object Syndrome: How to Appreciate Your Achievements Without Comparing Them to Others
If you didn’t know, I 🤢 Jolly Ranchers. 🫥
Because they taste like flavorful rocks.
If you’re anything like me, we eat starbursts instead.
Cause they different, flavorful, and easy to chew.
We take the hard out of the AI and entrepreneurship and add a lil flavor.
Today's flavor is all about focusing on yourself and turning down the noise of others’ success.
My name is NaLonni, and I confess I suffer from the shiny object syndrome. Like many of you, I often find myself mesmerized and, frankly, distracted by the dazzling success of other entrepreneurs. We gaze longingly at their achievements, their flawless execution, and sometimes, we can't help but give them the stank eye.
Why?
Well, because deep down, it's a cocktail of jealousy and frustration at our own inaction.
This has been my narrative, more times than I care to count, over the past year. Just 10 minutes before sitting down to write this, I was caught in that familiar vortex – admiring yet resenting another entrepreneur's success. Picture my face, a mix of awe and envy...
And let's not even start on how I obsess over every detail: their slick websites, their robust course offerings, their clever quizzes, and that seemingly endless sea of followers and podcast listeners. It’s like watching a parade of everything I aspire to achieve.
But here's the stark reality I want to share with you today:
YOU NEED TO CELEBRATE YOUR OWN WINS, BIG OR SMALL, EVEN WHEN NOBODY'S WATCHING. STOP OBSESSING OVER OTHERS.
It took me a moment, but I finally snapped out of my obsessive reverie. I took a step back to genuinely assess and appreciate what I've accomplished in the last 12 months.
You see, I usually downplay my achievements. If they're not raking in 7-figures, I dismiss them as insignificant. But that's where I was wrong. Oh, so wrong. "Nay, nay," as I like to say.
I realized that success isn't just about hitting those high revenue marks. It's also about the small victories, the incremental progress, and the personal milestones that we too often overlook. These achievements are the building blocks of greater things to come.
Last year, I produced two podcasts, created a social media strategy for both, started the beginnings of a project that turned into a new business venture, and had the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico to attend the ROI Millionaire Summit where I had the pleasure of meeting, live and in person, one of the very people I purchased a course from that works - Teri Ijeoma from Trade and Travel.

I mean, WOW! I am not a fan, girl. I don’t record, take selfies, I don’t do any of that and there were some heavy hitters at this summit - some of my favs.
But none of that stuff mattered to me as I sat here, obsessing over another creator’s success. Well, enough of that.
Here's what I want you to take away from this:
Reflect on Your Journey: Take a moment to look back on your own journey. Acknowledge the hurdles you've crossed and the growth you've experienced.
Define Your Own Success: Success is subjective. What matters is setting your own goals and metrics for achievement, not measuring against someone else's yardstick.
Celebrate the Small Wins: Every step forward, no matter how small, is progress. Celebrate it! These wins keep the momentum going and boost your confidence.
Focus on Your Path: It's easy to get sidetracked by others' success stories. Remember, your path is unique. Stay focused on your goals and continue to work towards them.
Seek Inspiration, Not Comparison: Let the success of others inspire you, rather than making you feel inadequate. Use it as fuel to drive your own ambitions.
Embrace Your Unique Journey: Finally, remember that your journey is uniquely yours. Embrace it with all its ups and downs. It's what makes your story authentically and wonderfully yours.
So, as I wrap up this post, I urge you to turn inward and recognize your worth and your progress. You're doing great; your journey is just as valid and impressive as anyone else's.
Pluto is in Aquarius, people!
The last time this happened was in the 1700s.
We are in a time of history where the very thing we’ve been waiting for to catapult us to success has been invented or is on the way to being invented.
Don’t ignore the technology.
Keep pushing, keep growing, and remember, your story is worth celebrating.
Be there, or Be square.
